Are you just starting out in business? Are you wondering what IOVC and the “I” of IOVC technology means? You heard about websites, internet marketing and may have heard of web services and you wonder what these IOVC technologies can do for improving your business operation?

IOVC technologies can cut your business costs sharply. The internet has demonstrated many business benefits for a long time now. As they say if you are not on the internet then you don’t exist. If you are looking for success through the use of the internet and the current suite of associated technologies then you owe it to yourself to make yourself profitable with the many readily available versions of internet based technologies.

In this continuing series on IOVC, examining the “I” of IOVC (internet, office, VOIP and CRM) technologies, the Internet, web sites and services tools needs to be understood in a little more depth.

The problems you face are that you need to reach more customers? You have nagging concerns that you could be doing more with your business or existing web site? You know the web as an addition to your business process could be beneficial. However your situation is that you have limited exposure to the internet and the world wide web. You do not have enough time or in-house expertise to make good use of the internet and yet you know you must expose your business to a wider audience and you would like to do it fast. If this is the case then you owe it to yourself to explore the following list of benefits that your business can enjoy from putting your business on the web.

Expand your customer base

Network more

Make Information Available 24 X 7

Serve Your Customers

Heighten Public Interest

Release Time Sensitive Materials

Sell Your Products

Make pictures, sound & files available

Answer Frequently Asked questions

Reach The Specialized Market

Stay In Contact With Salespeople

Go Global and Open International Markets

Create a 24 Hour Service

Rapidly change Information

Allow Feedback From Customers

Test Market New Services and Products

Reach The Media

Reach The Education and Youth Market

Reach a desirable demographic market

Serve Your Local Market

We know that the internet and a website are critical success factors in today’s global economy. The significance of the internet is that it is readily available anywhere you are.

In addition to websites, you can make money via extensive internet marketing opportunities. You can plan internet strategies, develop new ways of marketing on the net, help plan offline marketing strategies, submit and optimize your website to search engines and gain many new customers.

Exploring the more advance web services, the following benefits can appear in your business with a demonstrated tangible, return on an investment in your business. A web service allows you to reduce the cost of software development and deployment, support easier application integration internally and externally and provide easier B2B collaboration with your business partners. You can then get into transition thinking from developing and delivering monolithic projects to delivering business value that addresses the moment and stave off expensive and possible unrewarding projects. Finally web services permits system to system integration capabilities and this allows some parts of your business process to run without people in attendance.

The benefits of IOVC internet based technology in your business are many and lead the end to end suite of IOVC business process improvement solutions perfectly. The internet enables many other office processes, voice telephony traffic with voice over internet protocol (VOIP) and customer relationship management (CRM) on demand services.

The benefits as defined are many because the internet, especially the web based internet, web services and internet marketing are built into many office products and business processes in use today and require more explanation then we can provide here, however you owe it to yourself to investigate this area of IOVC technologies further and profit from these capabilities.

I was looking at some internet usage stats today that should make any marketer stop and think very hard. This data relates specifically to the way consumers use the web to research cars and trucks, but the broad take-away is relevant to pretty much anyone trying to sell stuff on the web.

First up: 70% of new vehicle buyers use the web during the research/purchase process (2007 New AutoShopper.com study).

Lots of retailers in multiple industries say that the web only accounts for around 15% of their sales. What they don’t realize is that they’re only looking at the purchases they can directly tie to leads generated online. The vast majority of consumers use the web as part of the shopping process. They just keep quiet about it.

Indeed, as our second stat reveals: Only 22% of all new vehicle buyers request a quote or enter a lead process online (2007 New Autoshopper.com study).

Unfortunately (for marketers) most people (78% in this instance) never “raise their hand” as part of the online shopping process, and only reveal themselves at the point of purchase – an auto dealer, a department store, Orbitz.com.

This misunderstanding has two unfortunate consequences – both related to the fact that companies significantly underestimate the importance of the web as a buying tool rather than a selling tool. The first is that they don’t invest enough in it, and the second is that they use it the wrong way – as a way to ‘capture’ a consumer with CRM or push ad messages as opposed to actually helping the buyer get what she wants.

Third stat: 70% of consumers trust the authority, opinion and experience of other vehicle owning consumers during the online shopping process (2007 Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young).

Well duh! But of course this is huge. Marketers have no choice but to accept (or better still embrace) consumer opinion and ratings of the products and services they sell. Brand perception is in the hands of the consumer and with the advent of amped-up digital networks, consumer perceptions (whether positive or negative) spread like wildfire – and are believed and trusted much more than anything the brand might try to say. Marketers can no longer advertise their way out of a bad brand (or product or service) proposition. Everything to do with a corporation is now in play as a potential driver or drag on brand perception. There are no hiding places left.

So here are my BIG 5 do’s for web marketing

Embrace the primacy of the consumer. She controls the buying process and she can make your life miserable if she has a bad experience while shopping for your product. Accept that you’re there to assist her in her non-linear buying process, not to drive messaging, leads and closes through your linear selling process. Open up your site so she can find what she needs on her terms. Don’t assume you can predict the path she’ll follow. Concentrate on content over messaging, architecture over ‘experience’, social media analysis and interaction over PR. Bear in mind this analogy. Worrying about leads is like tying your shoelace just before the avalanche hits. Devote your energy to the big picture and focus on things that actually make a difference.

It’s a whole new world out there.

According to survey, a whopping 80% of those who attended Internet marketing seminars do not have any ideas of what to sell.

This is no brainer if you are able to find out what does your target market want using online research tools (most of them are free). You will need to use different tools for different countries. For example, the tools we use for the UK market is different from the US market, or the Hong Kong market, or the China market.

In the past, Overture keyword research is one of the most popular free online research tool. However, this tool can no longer be used. Instead, you will need to open a pay-per-click account with Yahoo search marketing before you can use its online keyword research tool.

These tools enable us to find out not just how many searches for keywords are done per month, but also the popularity of different types of products under the same category. For example, if you want to sell jewelry, you need to decide to sell which type of jewelry, e.g diamond, silver, gold, fashion jewelry etc. Before you decide on this, you will need to use the online tools to find out which type is in highest demand online.

Once you identify the type of jewelry with the highest demand online, e.g fashion jewelry, then you can do sourcing online using search engines, dropship directory, and B2B portals like alibaba.com.

The physical products we are selling include N95 Masks or Bird Flu Masks, e1Net wireless rechargeable mouse, e1Net Skype ready Headset microphone etc

These tools are equally applicable for other business models such as:

1. Sell services

You can also use the Internet to sell and/or promote services, and even get customers from overseas. For example, we regularly got customers engage us from overseas to offer Internet marketing services to help them promote certain products in a particular country.

E.g. one UK university hired us to do email marketing to get people to visit their exhibition booth in Taiwan. Another popular shoe brand in Europe engaged us to do search engine marketing for their stores in Japan, which resulted in their sales increase by 180% within 3 months!

Another highly successful eOneNet Internet marketing coaching graduate is Alice Sy, who is now running a very successful online domestic helper agency in Hong Kong, www.1maidhk.com . Although a local website, she’s also getting customers from Spain, Bahamas etc.

2. Sell Software

This is a very lucrative thing to sell, as once you paid for the development costs, you pratically have little costs in selling the software online. Our software includes the DIY SEO Site Builder and web audio recording software.

Another highly successful example is Christopher Tam, who has made US$36,000 within 2 months of launching a new website, at www.klantcrm.com, selling CRM software. I believe he will be the next Internet Millionaire before the end of this year.

There are at least 5 more making money models online, some of which can be made auto-run.

A customer relationship management (CRM) application that is not able to create reports is virtually worthless. Accurate reporting in a variety of user-defined ways is one of the core strengths of a good contact management database. Of course, this ability relies on the accurate entry of all the data required for any given report. Without accurate data entry you cannot realistically expect to extract any kind of accuracy in a subsequent report.

Many companies are unaware of the latent power inherent in the data that is entered into the CRM by their sales and marketing team. They fail to realize that all that valuable data can be output as a meaningful and extremely useful report, in addition to just being useful customer contact information.

However, this is something that needs to be thought about before a company rolls out a CRM. Correct measures need to be taken to ensure that the GoldMine® software, or ACT!® software used is customized enough to allow easy and accurate reporting of selected valuable data.

An example might be a sales person entering lead and prospect information, which, if transformed into a report, will reveal how many leads that sales person has. If all the sales people are combined, then the report could tell how many leads the company as a whole currently has.

Intelligent reporting will also show how well a particular sales person is doing. It can reveal the number of calls and appointments that person has for each client, and also how well, or otherwise, he is handling the task.

GoldMine®, for example, can be set up to enforce rules that enable a company to in turn force their CRM users to always enter the correct data. This is accomplished through a feature in the database called “field entry validation” that will not permit the entry of incorrect data.

Using GoldMine® or ACT!® you can also generate meaningful reports from live data. This includes pulling reports from sales people who are in the field using the software. The response of ongoing marketing activities can be monitored and returns on investment can be checked, all through the sophisticated reporting features of a good CRM.

Geographical segmentation revealing useful demographics can be obtained through reporting, showing you exactly where your customers are coming from. You can discover how many prospects turned into real customers by purchasing the product or service from you. If you wish to discover the strengths and weaknesses of you sales team, then monitoring sales pipelines and producing relevant reports will tell you exactly what you need to know.

The sales people can benefit directly from good analytics and reporting. They can effectively turn the tools on themselves to discover in a real-time basis just how good their performance really is. If this information is used for improvement, then the customer experience will benefit also and sales will increase. This puts real power in the hands of the sales people who can monitor their performance on a regular basis to check how they are doing.

An introduction to Prophet and a CRM Call Center.

Customer resource management has long been one of the most important aspects that a company has had for sales. One of the most profitable CRM programs that are currently available is Avidian’s Prophet software. This software, which is highly effective, can be used not only for a company, but can be utilized in a CRM Call Center. Installation of Prophet in a CRM Call Center can help to optimize your business.

Prophet software works great with a CRM Call Center.

A CRM Call Center can benefit greatly from Prophet. With Prophet, the software is installed into a computer, and utilized through Outlook. The CRM that is managed between the company and client is then established, and can be manipulated in a variety of ways. For a CRM Call Center, there can be many accounts that can be accessed at any given time. This is highly beneficial for very large companies that work with multiple, high sales accounts. Such a CRM Call Center may be based at a company’s headquarters, where there is high revenue and traffic that is filtered through every day. Optimizing for maximum sales benefits is what every company strives for, which can be achieved with Prophet.

Prophet software works great with a CRM Call Center.

The workers that are stationed in a CRM Call Center are trained for many situations. For instance, should a client call the CRM Call Center with a question regarding their account, a representative at the CRM Call Center can quickly pull up their file and relate any information as needed. Furthermore, a representative at a CRM Call Center can tell a client where there may need to be additional purchases for sales, or where there can be room for additional profits through sales. Sales records can be monitored, and sales reports can be generated from the help of those that work at a CRM Call Center.

The sales goals of a CRM Call Center.

Although sales are the main goal between the client and the mentioned company, there are other functions that can be generated from a CRM Call Center. A CRM Call Center can be operational for in-bound telephone calls. This means that all calls that are created with the CRM Call Center are coming from established clients or potential customers. It is important that a CRM Call Center can give both parties the utmost attention and help as possible. This action can be established with a CRM Call Center. A representative at a CRM Call Center can utilize the Prophet software to tell potential customers the various ways that they can increase their sales, thanks to Prophet. A CRM Call Center agent can relay the important facts of how Prophet can manage as well as maximize sales. For example, a CRM Call Center agent may tell of how contact management can be utilized. A CRM Call Center can report how company sales can be organized, and the history of sales. As much, a CRM Call Center can review the notes that were saved on a particular account, which may be of great importance for future sales.

CRM Call Centers can be used for out-bound calls, too.

A CRM Call Center is not only operational for the benefit of in-bound calls, but out-bound calls as well. A CRM Call Center can use Prophet software to see where there are potential leads with sales, such as with textiles and materials. A CRM Call Center can then generate telephone calls based on such information, in hopes of adding additional clients to their services. If there is an area of interest for a company, they can utilize a CRM Call Center to see which companies may need an increase in sales. More times than not, a company will always seek the additional assistance of sales from a CRM Call Center. Corporations are continuously thriving for an increase in sales, and Prophet can show them just how to manipulate those leads. A CRM Call Center can work with a company and generate new arenas for sales. Often times, a call from a CRM Call Center representative is just the selling spark that a company needs. Other times, it is the call from a prospective company to the CRM Call Center that creates additional sales.

Networking with Prophet in a CRM Call Center.

Although it is true that Prophet’s CRM software can create sales reports via Outlook, it is also true that it can share documents through a network. For example, a CRM Call Center can share a company’s history with others that are networked in the company. This means that for those representatives that are working together for the sales of one company, they can all view the sales records at any given time. In a CRM Call Center, any representative that is working on a particular company’s sales can see how previous sales were generated, and where there can be additional sales for the client. The overall goal for both parties is to create additional sales, all the while managing sales for everyone’s ease.

Generating follow-up sales with a CRM Call Center and Prophet.

A CRM Call Center can also utilize the Prophet software to generate automated follow-ups for the client. This means that the CRM Call Center will add information to their program that will enable the CRM Call Center to contact the client when there is additional sales that are needed. This holds true in a situation where there are to be sales for a given product within a certain time period. Say, for example, that there are to be purchases made on a particular product every few months. A CRM Call Center can alert themselves that a company is in need of additional sales, and contact the clients when there are additional sales needed. A client, at that time, can notify the CRM Call Center if they would like to make additional purchases, or if they would rather hold off for another time. The same is true for advanced purchases. A CRM Call Center can notify a company in advance that there is stock that has arrived that they have been waiting for. A CRM Call Center can not only charge the company, but also send the materials out to the clients once the products have arrived. All of this can be done with the help of a CRM Call Center, and the ease of Prophet software.

CRM Call Centers and Prophet are the best pairs.

Clearly, the assistance that is given to companies from a CRM Call Center can be of benefit for many reasons. Such benefits can be maximized with Prophet software. Not only can prospective sales be generated through a CRM Call Center, but there can be additional sales, too. A CRM Call Center and Prophet software are truly two elements that go hand and hand.
